A new extension to Anritsu’s Rapid Test Designer (RTD) solution offers a solution for testing LTE signalling with IMS functions, audio and video quality. The extension to RTD provides the fastest and most flexible way to test Rich Communications Services (RCS) on LTE devices during development. Anritsu says this test creation environment can to create tests 5-10 times faster than when using a traditional scripting language.
National Instruments has announced its acquisition of Dresden, Germany-based Signalion GmbH. The acquisition adds technical talent in complex RF and communications algorithms and wireless infrastructure and base station test.
Aeroflex says its TM500 Test Mobile is the first to market to support full protocol stack UE (user equipment) emulation that enables network testing and measurements for the DC-HSUPA (Dual Cell High-Speed Upload Packet Access) standard specified in 3GPP W-CDMA Release 9. DC-HSUPA allows a UE to simultaneously transmit data over two independent enhanced uplink data channels, boosting both the uplink data rate and the network capacity, enabling maximum per-UE uplink data rates approaching 23Mbps - effectively doubling the maximum rate.
Tektronix has announced the H500 and SA2500 handheld spectrum analysers that include DPX waveform image processor technology to provide a live RF view of the spectrum. Along with built-in mapping and signal classification features in a compact, ruggedised package, the instruments are designed to allow spectrum regulators to efficiently manage and monitor spectrum in the field and hunt down elusive signals and interferers.
Aeroflex has announced support for a comprehensive range of IP data services with the Aeroflex E500 LTE Capacity Test platform. The data service mixes are provided by a custom-designed Shenick diversifEye solution using real data applications with independent per-flow behaviour and analysis including web browsing, video streaming, and voice over LTE (VoLTE).
At European Microwave Week, National Instruments debuted the NI PXIe-5667 20Hz to 7GHz spectrum monitoring receivers. They feature dynamic range of over 110 dB and distortion performance with third-order intercept (TOI) of over 17 dBm, and are intended for over-the-air RF measurements. Scan rates are up to 30GHz per second.
Underwriters Laboratories has chosen Anritsu as its provider for LTE telecoms equipment, becoming the first commercial independent LTE conformance test facility in the UK. Over the past 6 months UL has invested over $4 million at its Basingstoke base to create one of the most complete LTE test facilities in the country.
Anritsu has announced a call-based LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation testing capability that can be integrated into its MD8430A LTE Signalling Tester. The software-only upgrade leverages the four available RFs in the MD8430A, and provides 300 Mb/s downlink throughput using two 2x2 MIMO Component Carriers (CCs).
Aeroflex announced its 7700 integrated microwave test system last week at Autotestcon. The 7700 is an ATE (Automated Test Equipment) system-in-a-box designed for rapid production testing of microwave and RF components and modules. It a bench-sized instrument that uses Aeroflex’s synthetic architecture and Common Platform hardware to achieve fast measurement throughput.
Aeroflex is collaborating with the China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) on testing technologies for LTE and LTE-A. This will include testing and verification of LTE functionality and performance, as well as LTE-A key technologies such as carrier aggregation, eICIC, UL-MIMO, etc., using the Aeroflex TM500 Test Mobile and EAST500 Capacity Test System product families.
