Aeroflex has announced support for a comprehensive range of IP data services with the Aeroflex E500 LTE Capacity Test platform. The data service mixes are provided by a custom-designed Shenick diversifEye solution using real data applications with independent per-flow behaviour and analysis including web browsing, video streaming, and voice over LTE (VoLTE).
Underwriters Laboratories has chosen Anritsu as its provider for LTE telecoms equipment, becoming the first commercial independent LTE conformance test facility in the UK. Over the past 6 months UL has invested over $4 million at its Basingstoke base to create one of the most complete LTE test facilities in the country.
The second IC in Nujira’s Envelope Tracking (ET) product family, Coolteq.LET, is now sampling. Nujira says that the NCT-L1200 is the only product to support the maximum 20MHz channel bandwidth of LTE. Nujira’s Coolteq.L family of ET power modulators for handsets reduces wasted energy from PAs in mobile handsets by more than 50%, cutting heat dissipation and extending battery life.
Anritsu has announced a call-based LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation testing capability that can be integrated into its MD8430A LTE Signalling Tester. The software-only upgrade leverages the four available RFs in the MD8430A, and provides 300 Mb/s downlink throughput using two 2x2 MIMO Component Carriers (CCs).
Sub10 Systems has announced that it has signed a global supply and distribution agreement with Alcatel-Lucent, under which Sub10's millimetre wave Liberator radio links will be used by Alcatel-Lucent as part of its metro cell backhaul solutions, which are used to provide links to mobile network radios in densely populated locations.
mimoOn has released mi!SmallCellVeriPHY, a test suite for the verification of 4G-LTE small cell PHY (physical layer) functionality during the product development process. The suite enables product developers to re-validate the lower software layers after modifications to the hardware platform and in the upper protocol stack to ensure a robust, high-performing end product. It also removes the need for product engineers to create such validation tools on the fly, significantly saving product development time.
Altair Semiconductor’s FourGee-3100/6200 chipset has been certified to run over Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network. Verizon operates the world’s largest 4G LTE wireless network, and is based in the US.
Aeroflex is collaborating with the China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) on testing technologies for LTE and LTE-A. This will include testing and verification of LTE functionality and performance, as well as LTE-A key technologies such as carrier aggregation, eICIC, UL-MIMO, etc., using the Aeroflex TM500 Test Mobile and EAST500 Capacity Test System product families.
Lantiq is collaborating with software companies D2 Technologies and Ecrio to offer integration and test support for Voice over LTE software. The companies will use the the Lantiq XWAY GRX Gateway Platform, which includes a powerful multi-core network processor and proven Universal Gateway software stack for core networking functions.
Samsung has demonstrated clear reception of LTE broadcast services using evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS) technology, using Anritsu’s Rapid Test Designer (RTD) and MD8430A LTE signal tester to simulate the LTE network environment. Anritsu says Samsung engineers were able to create the eMBMS demo using RTD’s graphical script design to drive the execution of the test simulation on the Anritsu MD8430A LTE signal tester.
