Mesago Messe Frankfurt to run ID World

Mesago Messe Frankfurt is to take over the event format of ID World from the show’s previous organiser, Wise Media. Wise Media President, Sophie de la Giroday, will continue to be involved in developing and implementing the concept whilst Mesago will take over the organisation, promotion and project management of the event, whose key themes include RFID.

First public demo of Cavium’s base station-on-a-chip

Cavium is set to demonstrate its Octeon Fusion small cell base station on a chip technology in public for the first time later this week at the 4G World 2011 conference (October 25-27 in Chicago).

RFMD ships two-millionth multi-chip module, launches two monolithic VCAs

RF Micro Devices (RFMD) has surpassed two million in cumulative shipments of its Multi-Chip Modules (MCMs) supporting 3G base station transceiver (BST) applications for the wireless infrastructure end market.  MCMs are highly integrated packages in which multiple ICs and discrete components are assembled onto one unifying substrate to form a single placement RF component.

Call for papers issued for 4th Microwave and Radar Week

The organizing committee of 4th Microwave and Radar Week (MRW-2010) has issued a call for papers for the two conferences that comprise the event. MRW-2010 will take place on 14 – 18 June 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Full papers must be submitted by 15 January 2010, with full details of topics and important dates available on the Websites of the conferences, the 18th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar, and Wireless Communications (MIKON-2010) and the 11th International Radar Symposium (IRS 2010).

Cambridge Wireless and Silicon South West launch showcase event for wireless start-ups

Cambridge Wireless and Silicon South West have teamed up to launch ‘Wireless Start-Up Fest 2009’, a new event to be held in London on Thursday 8 October 2009.

The event will feature pitches from some of the UK's most exciting wireless start-ups, including: Airetrak, Alertme.com, BardOwl, Blu Wireless Technology, Cascoda, Octymo, Omnisense, Qasara, Reveal2Me, Rummble, Sidonis and Zimiti. A number of speakers from established companies and organisations have also been confirmed, including Google, Toshiba, Cambridge Wireless, Taylor Wessing, Agilent Technologies and Rohde & Schwarz.

“The UK is a global hotspot for wireless and comms innovation," said Simon Bond of Silicon South West. “It has produced world-class companies like Vodafone and CSR, and continues to produce exciting new start-ups, all looking for their place on the world stage. We are launching the event to showcase this upcoming new talent.”
