Helen Duncan is a freelance technical journalist specialising in RF, microwave & wireless communications; a technical conference organiser; has a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering; a Chartered Engineer and IET and IEEE member. Helen began her career (1977-89) as a development engineer and project manager with Plessey Three Five Group in the UK (formerly Plessey Optoelectronics & Microwave), later becoming Marketing Manager for Plessey’s GaAs microwave and optoelectronic products. She then moved on to become Marketing manager of Rohm Electronics (UK). Helen also has considerable experience in technical journalism, PR and market analysis, having worked as: Editor of Microwave Engineering Europe; as Technical Director of European Microwave Week, Wireless Design Conference, Wireless Broadband Forum and Chair of a series of workshops on RF technology, mobile communications and wireless broadband technology; as the author of market reports on passive devices, semiconductors and RF/microwave components for organisations such as Frost & Sullivan, Reed Elsevier, CMP and the Federation of the Electronics Industry (now Intellect).
