The Controller Area Network is rather common in car electronics as well as in industrial automation. Complex networks connecting safety-critical nodes require continuous analysis and monitoring. Three devices from Ixxat are supposed to simplify that task.
For analysis and diagnosis of CAN networks during development, manufacturing and service, Ixxat has developed CBT2plus and CANobserver. According to Ixxat, CBT2plus (CAN Bus Tester) enables the fast and detailed analysis of the signal quality in CAN networks. Using various trigger modes and the integrated oscilloscope enables error analysis in order to detect and fix errors.
CANobserver offers the analysis functionality of CBT2plus in an enhanced version for long-term monitoring. It allows permanent monitoring of CAN based networks. If signal quality is impaired, CANobserver informs the operator autonomously via e-mail, SNMP or by setting a digital output, e.g. to switch a signal light. Maintenance actions can thus be carried out in good time before errors occur in the CAN network.
In combination with the data logger CANcorder , occasionally occurring errors and their causes can be detected and fixed, too.
