element14 says its number of registered members has reached 100,000.
Launched in June 2009, the electronics design engineers online community, gives access to 46 industry manufacturers, technical documents, webinars, product RoadTest, videos on element14 TV and the latest updates on electronics legislation. As a thank you for being a part of this milestone, element14 is offering all 100,000 registered members a 10% discount voucher on their next purchase.
There are over 470,000 minutes of viewed content on the site each week, and engineering members share their expertise with the widest conversation that occurred between two members 7,872 miles apart. The quickest solution to a problem was provided in just 4 hours.
“The element14 community has fostered several innovations since its launch with the one aim of supporting design engineers of tomorrow by providing them with a single destination for research, collaboration and product solutions,” said Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community, element14. “We constantly seek to nurture innovation by supporting our community in its quest to push the boundaries of what is possible in this fast moving industry. Our newly launched Ultimate Roadtest competition is testament to this aim.”
The Ultimate RoadTest stretches the capabilities of three highly skilled and creative engineers from across the globe. It challenges them to design and build a working prototype application using existing development tools, software, and design tools (including CadSoft EAGLE) to create a real-world solution within the Home Automation market. The end application must include functional elements including wireless, sensing, motor control, and lighting.
