Digi-Key has been named TE Connectivity’s 2010 Global Catalogue Distributor of the Year.
This is the second award TE has presented to Digi-Key in recognition of the company's global distribution of TE products. Digi-Key received the award based on sales growth, performance, demand identification and creation, customer expansion, cash improvements, and cost reductions/operation efficiency gains.
"We appreciate the recognition we have received from TE," said Mark Larson, Digi-Key's president and COO. "As a global, Internet-based distributor, Digi-Key is dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of in-stock product available to our customers worldwide. As this award confirms, Digi-Key is a company that is able to offer the best possible service to our global customer base by offering quality name-brand products from leading suppliers like TE."
Digi-Key has distributed TE products since 1984.
"For the past 26 years Digi-Key has maintained a strong relationship with TE. Distributing their quality products to our customer base worldwide presents Digi-Key as a trustworthy company with the best in electronic components," said Jeff Shafer, Digi-Key's vice president of global interconnect, passive and electromechanical product. "We have the utmost respect for TE and are grateful to be considered TE’s Global Catalog Distributor of the Year for 2010."
Excellent Point, Pitchfork. I guess you could argue as it is a 2010 award they still qualify.
You do open up a broader question. What happens in 2011? Are Digi-Key disqualified from this category? Or does an online catalogue still qualify? My money is on the latter!
Thanks for the comment,

Ironic since the winner of the global catalogue distributor award no longer produces a catalogue!
