RS Components has taken the wraps off a new Apple iPhone application that is live and available to customers in
Customers in France get first go with the application. RS plans a rapid global roll-out to global in the coming months. The application has several unique features including the ability for customers to identify their product requirements by taking a photograph of the required part on their iPhone and sending it directly to the distributor. With a guaranteed response rate of within one hour, technical support staff will identify the part and send the stock identity number back to the customer and link them directly to a purchasing option. New functionality will continue to be added to the application as it evolves based on customer feedback.
Martijn Duchatteau, Global Head of On-line Innovation at RS said “with nearly 50% of our business traded on-line, this new tool underscores our commitment to improving our customers’ end to end journey.” He added “as we continue to expand on this in the future with the introduction of on-line customer co-creation initiatives we can assure delivery of a world-class and compelling online experience.”
The tool is available from today on the Apple iTunes App Store when a search is entered for “Radiospares” (in France the company is still called by its original name)
