EBV Elektronik has been recognised as having one of the environmentally friendliest offices in Germany.
The Office and Environment competition, sponsored by the Federal Environment Ministry, assesses performance in the energy usage of IT equipment and paper usage, and named EBV as a prize winner.
The semiconductor specialist distributor has been pursuing its 'ECOmise IT' campaign for effective environment and climate protection.
“A resource considerate attitude in the daily office life is an important factor of our ‘ECOmise it’ campaign. The contribution of each individual appears minimal at first; however, all together we have here enormous possible savings. Therefore we sensitised our employees early on and thus motivated them. That is why we receive such creative ideas from our employees through our idea competition ‘ECOmise Ideas’ about where we can save even more resources. Of course, we implement these ideas when possible. We are extremely proud of this award from a nonpartisan party. It confirms to us that we, in regards to the topic of climate protection, pursued the right path from the beginning,” explains Christian Meier, COO at EBV Elektronik.
Currently EBV Elektronik, subject to the regulations of the ‘Forest Stewardship Council’ (FSC), only prints on certified paper from environmentally-sensitive forestry. Now, the company has announced that in the future all printed material will also go through a climate-neutral process.
This will be guaranteed through the certification ‘Climate-Neutral Printing’ from the organisation ‘ClimatePartner’.
