The deal covers Nordic's products for the ISM band as well as transceiver and receiver components, which are also available in combination with flash microcontrollers. One-chip solutions designed for ultra-low power consumption at high performance levels will also be on the Rutronik menu.
Likely application areas include PC accessories, intelligent sports equipment, gamepads, industrial, remote controls, sensors, home automation and audio. Support for the products will come via Rutronik's wireless development centres in Sweden and Germany.
"Our customers shall be the first to take advantage of new technologies, recognise market trends as early as possible and get optimal results from them," said Reto Wachter (pictured), the Nordic Semiconductor line manager at Rutronik. He described the extended agreement as a key factor given the predicted growth in the market for wireless applications over the next year.
