The biggest hazard, an IT failure, has now been eliminated from the danger list following a major investment by the Ispringen, Germany-based distributor.
It has installed a new computer system at its headquarters which gives the company a complete dual installation of all important IT systems in two physically separate centres. Access to all the company's overseas subsidiaries is fail safe via separate routing and redundant hardware.
And with a nod to green and environmental issues, Rutronik says the modern air conditioning and power supply technologies will make a considerable reduction in energy consumption.
Said Marco Nabinger, managing director IT and organisation at Rutronik, "We invested a lot in this project. increased availability and improved energy efficiency will pay off these costs in a minimum amount of time. We do, and will continue to operate our IT systems at our headquarters in Germany. This enables us to respond quickly, flexibly and competently to the requirements of our customers."
