Free bus rides are going to be a thing of the past for workers at RS Components' Corby facility in the UK.
For the past 25 years workers have been able to hop on the buses to the distribution centre which is three miles out of town. Now RS has decided in these straitened times that the service, which costs over £250,000 a year to run, will be scrapped.
The last bus will run at the end of October this year.
One worker talking to the local Northampton Evening Telegraph reported anger amongst the workforce, many of whom rely on the service to get to work, while acknowledging the cost to the company was high.
Now staff will have to pay to jump on a bus or as one observed, "Buy a bike."
