MSC-Gleichmann has established a dedicated division to manage its quartz crystal and high frequency products.
There will be a team of three headed by sales and marketing director Rolf Aschoff. The new division will kick off operations with four suppliers on board. They are Vectron International, KDS, ComNav Engineering and the South Korean SGC Technologies.
Vectron's expertise is in high precision sensor, frequency control and hybrid products solutions. The Japanese KDS's speciality is microprocessor crystals, clock crystals, oscillators and filters for GPS and telecoms applications.
US-based ComNav Engineering is dedicated to developing and manufacturing customer-specific ceramic filters for wireless communications, navigation and aerospace applications.
Ceramic filters and resonators for measurement technology and wireless communications make up SGC's bill of fare.
“Due to the rapid progress in the field of radio technology, frequency-producing devices have gained significantly in importance during the last few years. In the light of this development, it was obvious for the extremely strong design-in oriented distributor companies MSC and Gleichmann Electronics to concentrate their long-standing know-how in this field in a division specifically focused on these products. As an internal and external service-provider, we combine competence and quality with the greatest possible neutrality. This, in turn, ensures our customers the utmost objectivity and therefore the ideal solution for their very specific problem,” explained Rolf Aschhoff.
“Selection of the optimum frequency generator depends on a lot of different parameters such as operating temperature range, construction, frequency, frequency tolerance and stability, maximum ESR value, etc. This is where practical experience often plays an important role. Our advantage compared to many competitors is that MSC’s and Gleichmann Electronics’ FAEs are specialized in microprocessor applications. They are involved everyday with the design-in of frequency products and therefore possess a high level of consulting skills," he added.
