Global deals are flavour of the month at present and Digi-Key has joined the July trend with a key semiconductor signing.
It has agreed a deal with Fujitsu Microelectronics for the worldwide distribution of the Japanese semiconductor company's eight-bit microcontrollers and digital touch-screen sensor ICs.
The microcontrollers are designed for domestic appliances such as vacuum cleaners, ovens and other kitchen appliances, electrical tools, consumer healthcare products and after market car accessories.
The digital touch-screen sensor IC is a capacitive touch controller developed for mobile phones, PDAs, remote controllers, multimedia players and other mobile devices.
Digi-Key will be Fujitsu's exclusive online distribution partner for these products.
Additional products covered in the deal ,include 16-bit microcontrollers, phase-locked loops, power management ICs, spread spectrum clock generators and 32-bit microcontrollers.
"Fujitsu Microelectronics has a strong record of developing innovative, high quality and easy to use microcontrollers, wireless ICs, power management devices and other products that we are certain will appeal to our customers," commented Dave Doherty, Digi-Key's vice president for semiconductor products.
