Anglia, the UK-based distributor has joined an elite club by gaining AS9120 certification, one of the industry's most demanding quality standards.
It means the company is accredited to supply components for safety critical flight systems for the aerospace and defence industries. Anglia joined the SBAC SC21 programme earlier this month.
The approval covers Anglia's quality systems and lot traceability elements and certifies they meet the demanding standards demanded by aerospace and defence customers.
Said Steve Rawlins (pictured) chief executive officer of Anglia, "This approval represents a significant investment for Anglia and strongly demonstrates our commitment to the defence, aerospace and high reliability sectors. This market represents a growing opportunity in the UK electronics industry, and winning this approval puts us in pole position to serve its needs."
The distributor is now working towards gaining formal recognition under the SC21 programme, and expects to achieve this within the next six to nine months.
