Only got a minute to digest those important EU directives? Then Farnell hopes it has the answer.
The distributor has launched a series of what it calls 60 second guides focusing on design legislation which impacts electronic design engineers, and as the picture shosw you'e only got 55 seconds left!
The guides will give quick overviews of the REACH and RoHS regulations and the new batteries directive.
The thinking at Farnell is that the documentation on the various pieces of legislation require a fair amount of reading so the guides have been written to gain a quick, initial understanding of the subjects.
The guides have been published in English, French and German and will also appear on the respective local language Farnell Global Legislation web sites.
The hand of Gary Nevison, Farnell's head of legislation can be detected here and he commented, "Legislation is crucial to the electronics sector, but the documentation describing it and the obligationson the design engineer are often long and complex. We recognised that in order to help our customers achieve compliance, then a way of gaining a quick and easy understanding of the legislation would prove hugely useful. The 60 second guides and the longer step-by-step guides have been developed to do this and add to the content already present on our global legislation web site."
