European Electronics After the Crisis? Well Europartners, the organisers of a conference titled thus must be hoping the banks don't have any more jokers up their collective sleeves.
And they are not pussyfooting around the post downturn issues. One of the topics to be debated is: How will the electronic component industry react and will the current supply channel system survive?
Other topics are: How can companies overcome the crisis and be prepared for the market upturn? and what impact has the decline for the whole electronics industry?
The conference is very much a supply chain event. Speakers include Andy King, president, Farnell Europe, Gene Conahan, president, TTI Europe, Georg Steinberger, vice president, marketing communications, Avnet Europe and Wolfram Ziehfuss, president of the FBDi, Germany's component distribution association.
Suppliers are well represented too. Pierre Laboisse, vice president, worldwide distribution, NXP Semiconductors, Mark Jones, chief executive officer, Omron Europe and Alexander Schenkel, director, AVX are all slated to speak.
The conference has been running since 1989 and this year's renewal is to be staged on October 6-7 at Paris-Nord, Villepinte. As an extra incentive the conference runs concurrently with the Forum de l'Electronique exhibition at the same venue. There is also a networking supper on the first evening of the conference at the Automobile Club de France on Place de la Concorde.
