It's been a busy week at Munich-based distributor AMS Technologies.
The company has signed two new deals on consecutive days. Monday dawned to an agreement with fellow Irish company SensL which specialises in low light sensing solutions. The signatures were barely dry on that deal before the signing hands were getting another outing as a exclusive distribution agreement with LightPath Technologies was sealed.
The distributor will be taking SensL's low lighting sensor products to the German and east European markets. These include silicon low light detector products, silicon photomultiplier array technology and data acquisition systems, all designed to meet the current and emerging markets for digital and analogue applications. Radiation detection, analytical instruments, nuclear medicine, high resolution timing, diagnostics and engineering services will be targeted.
The LightPath pact is an extension to an existing agreement. Previously the distributor for the German and Austrian markets, AMS Technologies' remit has been extended to cover the whole of Europe.
LightPath's optical products include precision moulded aspheric optics, Gradium glass products, proprietary collimator assemblies, laser components using proprietary automation technology and packing solutions.
Under the new deal AMS will become the central hub for LightPath's business in Europe providing local sales support, technical assistance, and a consolidated inventory location for all European customers.
AMS will also take the lead in promotional activities including marketing and trade shows. The distributor will serve the market via regional offices in Spain, France, Germany, Italy and the UK.
