Passive components specialist NIC Components Europe has presented Future Electronics with its prestigious EMEA Design-in Distributor Award 2008.
NIC says Future Electronics has delivered a combination of revenue growth and growth in design-in opportunities for its products in the EMEA region.
The distributor has enjoyed particular success at providing design-in support in the growing and highly competitive LED lighting application arena. Its Future Lighting Solutions division has supported the adoption of NIC Components Europe passive solutions where it has made NIC Components Europe their one-stop-shop for performance passives.
Roger Addison, European distribution manager at NIC Components Europe, said: "Future Electronics' design and engineering focus combined with their proactive approach in technical solutions has yielded very impressive results, and effective design wins for NIC's key passive technologies in 2008.'
He added: "NIC Components has developed bespoke design tools to support Future Electronics' continued drive for the 'attach' sell on IP&E products, the main focus being the online performance passive service - our Quick Kit."
To support the companies' successful partnership, Future Electronics now supports the NIC Components' Quick Kits: this programme supplies complete sets of passive components for a variety of target applications, including LED driving. NIC's Quick Kit provides access to design-critical passive components specified in these reference designs within 72 hours, also providing the option to add other items from NIC's portfolio.
Chris McAneny, Business Development Director at Future Electronics (EMEA), said: "It's often the silicon that attracts engineering attention, however customers are now telling us that the ability to provide a complete solution, including the design-critical passive technologies around the silicon, is paramount. It is this customer demand combined with our strategy of technical solutions that makes NIC's design initiative and Internet-based tools an ideal partner for Future Electronics."
