This second article carries the headline "Off does not always mean off" and looks at the binding requirements regarding standby mode for offices and domestic devices.
The articles was written in cahoots with Okopol, an independent institute and summaries the main points of new regulations passed by the EU Commission as part of the EuP guidelines. The regulation specifies a binding upper limit for power consumption in standby/off mode for the majority of office and domestic electrical and electronic devices.
