Embedded World: Brooks to Head Avnet Embedded

On the eve of the Embedded World show in Nuremberg, Avnet Embedded has a new vice president.

He is Martin Brooks, who joined Avnet when the company acquired UK-based distributor Abacus Group. He now becomes responsible for defining and executing the EMEA strategy for Avnet Embedded.

Brooks, who is 40, joined Abacus in 1998 and has held a variety of senior positions including director of semiconductors, marketing director and general manager UK. Most recently he was managing director of the Abacus Embedded Group and a board member of Abacus Group. Prior to Abacus Brooks was a field applications manager at Arrow

Our focus is on enabling our customers to enhance the efficiency of their products while reducing development time by providing the best products and solutions backed by technical services and logistical support."
