Reach to design engineers is the Holy Grail for suppliers, and plenty, if not all, expect their distribution network to do the reaching.
Glen MacGibbon, vice president at sensor and sensor system supplier Measurement Specialties has been sufficiently impressed by Digi-Key's reach to enter a global distribution agreement with the Thief River Falls-based company.
Measurement Specialties products to be stocked by Digi-Key include force, piezo, position, pressure and vibration sensors. The products are already available through the distributor's web site and will appear in both it's print and online catalogues.
Mark Larson (pictured), president and chief operating officer of Digi-Key commented, "With certainty that our customers will find these quality products to be of significant interest, we are very pleased to partner with Measurement Specialities and add this company to our line-up of valued manufacturers."
"We have been working with Digi-Key on our core pressure products for the past several years," said McGibbon. "We have been extremely impressed with it's reach to design engineers. The agreement will enable us to share some of our newer sensor products with this important customer base."
