Reference boards based around the ARM processors are increasingly in demand so Arrow Europe has moved to fill the gap in partnership with hardware and software specialist.
The platform launched today, is a complete software and hardware development kit that is available with options of Samsung and Freescale ARM processors. The kit comprises a credit-card sized CPU board, a motherboard containing peripherals and interfaces, a touch-screen enabled TFT display and an embedded operating system.
Along with the LCD panel, the kit offers audio input and output, and an input for a three column by four rows keyboard. Connectivity includes connectors for the CPU board, a 10/100mbps Ethernet port, RS232 and RS485 capabilities, two USB host interfaces and one USB client.
The USB connectivity enables the addition of a wide range of additional functionality including wireless communications, while slots for SD cards and compact Flash cards ensure compatibility with portable media. The kit provides full support for Linux and Microsoft Windows Embedded CE operating systems. Engineers can speed up application development of Windows-based embedded systems with Everex's board support package.
