Phil Gallagher, president of Avnet Electronics Marketing (EM) is shifting positions within the company and has been named as president of Avnet Technology Solutions.
He replaces John Paget who is stepping down immediately, but will take on a leadership transition role.
Gallagher (pictured), a 26-year veteran of Avnet was named as president of the EM group in 2004. Prior to that he has held a number of senior positions, almost exclusively in the electronic components distribution business, so IT will be a new market for him.

He was previously president of Avnet Cilicon, the company's specialist semiconductor distribution business and the Avnet RF and microwave business unit.
Gallagher reports directly to Rick Hamada, chief operating officer of Avnet Inc.
Avnet Technology Solutions revenues in 2008 were $7.6bn.

Are you sure he's only 26? With all that experience he must have started with Avnet straight from the womb!
