Like London buses, for which you can wait for ages before three appear together, following the holiday drought, a flotilla of franchise agreements have been announced today spanning the globe.
Let's start in Europe where Easby Electronics, based in the historic north Yorkshire market town of Richmond, have been named as the first European distributor for Hollyfuse, one of Asia's leading manufacturers of, yes you've guessed, fuses. The company has a good range including glass and ceramic tube fuses, micro fuses, power fuses, SMD fuses and thermal cut off devices.
To kick off Easby will be stocking the 50F Series, a low breaking capacity glass tube fuse (Quick Acting), the 50T Series, a low breaking capacity fuse tube (Time Lag) and the 5RT, a radial leaded micro fuse (Time Lag) along with a range of fuse clips and holders.
Not a million miles away in the north east of England, Zytronic, a designer and manufacturer of Projected Capacitive Technology (PCT) touch sensors is beefing up its presence in Asia/Pacific with the signing of touch sensor specialist distributor Minato Electronics in Japan.
Both parties spy plenty of opportunities. The thinking is that as falling prices for flat panel displays drive increased take up of digital signage, as well as demand for touch panels for public and frequent use systems, Minato's system-level expertise and Zytronic's touch sensors will seize the opportunity to drive market share forward.
And finally just to demonstrate there's no geography we will leave unturned let's shift to north America where ITMA (It's That Mouser Again). Hardly has the ink dried on yesterdays CalAmp deal than the Mouser Mont Blanc pens were out again to sign a deal with Japanese connector maker Hirose.
Mouser will stock the whole kit and kaboodle of Hirose products encompassing rectangular, circular and coaxial connectors along with FFC/FPC connectors.
