Mouser Electronics has signed up to be a distributor for IAR Systems Software, a move which follows closely the recent agreement between Digi-Key and EDA software supplier Altium.
IAR provides C/C++ compilers and other software tools for embedded system based on 8-, 16- and 32-bit microprocessors for the medical, industrial automation and automotive markets.
Mouser will stock IAR development tools for many major MPU and MCU architectures, including evaluation and debugging tools. These include the Embedded Workbench, an integrated development environment which includes a C/C++ compiler, project manager, editor, build tool and debugger.
"Development tools are often the first purchase an engineering team makes when beginning a new product design," noted Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Active Products. "IAR's Embedded Workbench line is one of Mouser's most requested development tools, and so IAR was a logical addition to our line card in support of our many MCU and MPU suppliers' products.
