Russia's semiconductor market is growing fast. DMASS, theassociation which encompasses suppliers and distributors put this growth at 24 per cent through the second quarter of this year and the market continued to propel the emerging eastern European semiconductor business in the third quarter.
Suppliers have noticed and to use an old London saying have decided, "I'll have some of that!"
They are wary of establishing direct operations so Russian distributors will look to benefit, and of these Compel is 15 years old and one of the longer established and more experienced companies. They are now the chosen distributor and service partner for ON Semiconductor following an agreement between the two companies.
ON says the deal has been made to address the growing demand for its products in Russia.
ON Semiconductor's Vice President for Global Channel Sales elaborates, "We see a growing demand from OEMs and CEMs in the region. As Russia's largest electronic components distributor, Compel will help us to satisfy this demand while providing high levels of technical support at a local level."
Compel president Boris Rudyak added, "The On portfolio fits perfectly with our existing technology offering and further expands the solutions we can offer to Russian OEMs and CEMs."
Looks like they may have been giving out free beer when the photograph was taken so it is something of a crowd scene, but a pet hate of mine is picture without an identifying caption so here goes l to r: Michael Pradile, Sales Director Distribution DC, EMSI and eastern Europe, Vitaly Ryabov, Product Manager, Compel JSC, Jeff Thomson, Vice President, Global Channel Sales, ON Semiconductor, Boris Rudyak, president, Maria Rudyak, Brand Manager, Compel JSC, Alla Zoubar Baroch, Account Manager, Distribution, ON Semiconductor, and Valeriy Yatchmennikov, Technical Marketing Compel JSC. And here's the pic!
