Rutronik reckons it has the solution to saving space in the banks of switches used in instrumentation applications.
It now has in stock Omron's 10GHz RF MEMs switch which comes in a LGA package of 5.2 x 3.0 x 1.8mm. Aimed at automatic test equipment, RF test instruments and similar applications, the switchhas low power consumption compared to standard electromechanical devices.
The switch is being released in SPDT form initially. It has a contact life of 100million operations which results from the use of both contact forming and wafer level packing techniques. Ithas an insertion loss of just 1.0dB at 10GHz, and it has rated operating temperature of -20 to +80°C and typical power consumption of 10uW
