RCL Displays? Ever heard of them? Thought not. Well you may be about to hear a bit more as they start to pull together an official European distribution network.
The chosen distributor is Gleichmann Electronics, whose founder Manfred Schwartztrauber won aLifetime Achievement Award at the Elektra Awards recently. The agreement was signed by RCD managing director Norman Wong and Thomas Klein, managing director Gleichmann Electronics.
Hong Kong-based RCD was founded in 1981. Its speciality is customised and innovative LCD displays. The company's manufacturing facility is in Dongguan, China where it employs 2,400 people who process over 500,000 square metres of glass a year. First class quality and fair prices are RCL's hallmark, according to Norman Wong. It is a policy which Wong says helps the company grow even in difficult economic times. I'm tempted top observe this will be put to the test in the coming months. RCL's innovative approach requires a design-in distributor, the reason, says Wong, he chose Gleichmann. He also indicated Gleichmann's many years of experience in the implementation of customer-specific displays. For Gleichmann one of the attractions is RCL's pioneering role in the demand for Enhanced Blackness TN Technology, originally designed for automotive use but now spreading its wings into other applications.
