There has been a shake up in the executive ranks at Nu Horizons.
Dave Bowers, the long time executive vice president, distribution and a corporate officer is leaving the company to pursue interests outside the component distribution industry.
Stepping up is Kent Smith, previously the senior vice president of sales, Americas, who becomes executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, though he will not become a corporate officer of the company.
Said company chairman and chief executive officer Arthur Nadata, "During his tenure at Nu Horizons the company benefited significantly from Dave's broad-based understanding of the electronics distribution industry. We wish him well as he pursues other interests."
Kent Smith joined Nu Horizons in 2003 and was Western region vice president before taking responsibility for north American sales in 2005.
Nadata commented, "Kent has been instrumental in building a firs in class sales force and engineering group, and along with his management team, has been responsible for driving sales and enhancing our position as a demand creation distributor in the market place."
"We believe he has the leadership skills necessary to enable Nu Horizons to continue to build on our competitive position in the global market place, while also improving overall efficiencies and productivity within our organisation," he added.
Geoff Annesi, vice president of Nu Horizons' Western region is promoted to senior vice president of sales, America.
