Connector specialist PEI Genesis will open a new French sales operation based near Paris in January next year
The business will be headed by Jean Noel Galliot and is the continuation of a strategy to grow European revenues.
"At present the ratio of sales in the UK and sales in the rest of Europe is 50:50," said Doug Mercer, European Marketing Manager of PEI-Genesis. "We've been in the UK longer than any other European country so now we need to expand from our UK base to change the ratio to nearer 70:30 in favour of mainland Europe."
The company already has offices in Stuttgart where there are 10 sales people who speak 10 different languagesand a smaller operation in Ankara, Turkey.
The company has enjoyed phenomenal growth in the UK. In five years it has expanded from five staff in small office suite in Reading to 55 people employed in a 62,000 square feet facility adjacent to Southampton Airport, where it assembles connector products. It's two key suppliers are Amphenol and ITT Cannon.
