Passive and connector specialist TTI is creating a raft of business units in Europe which will focus on specific vertical markets. Transportation, military/aerospace and medical are the first to be targeted.
The moves follow the successful launch of a transportation business unit in north America which has racked up $200M of business in 18 months.
"Our focus is on all transportation outside the car and commercial vehicles," said Glyn Dennehy, Senior Vice President and General Manager for TTI in Europe. Tractors, fork lift trucks, ski-lifts are examples Dennehy gives. In the medical electronics market TTI will focus on imaging equipment, patient monitoring, therapeutic equipment and hospital and patient care. Lead suppliers for TTI in medical will be Molex on the connector front and Murata for passive components.
Each unit will have a Director supported by a Head of Sales and specialist sales engineers and technical support. Gavin Darling hs been named to head up transportation and Ros Kruger will focus on military/aerospace.
"The strategy is for the team to support strategic accounts and support the rest of TTI in selling into these markets.
