Power One is marshalling its distributor network to take full responsibility for selling its range of embedded power products.
In the UK broadliners Arrow, Avnet and Future will line up alongside power specialists UR and Relec.
According to Steve Underwood, Director, Industrial Product Marketing for Power One customers will be able to visit the Power One web site configure their product and generate a part number.
"80 per cent of these will be OK, 20 per cent will be obscure, so with the part number they can take it to a distributor to configure the device and turn it into a product," said Underwood. "They will ship it within two weeks - that's the competitive bar," he added.
The new strategy encompasses Power One's AC/DC modular power supply range of 1Kw to 5kW and 400W to 1kW devices.
