When RS Components launches its catalogue, entire national delivery networks are on red alert, and couriers embark on a fitness programme. It is a whopper!
It comes in four instalments. RS Components has always had a broader remit than other catalogue distributors. It has a customer base across the spectrum of industrial engineers, hence the four parts of the catalogue. This leviathan contains over 160,000 products, of which all are available from stock, with free next day delivery until September 2009. It features over 23,500 new products and has over 80,000 price reductions included, which in these challenging times is pretty good news. 
The RS catalogue is to be honest something of an industry bible. The company has been in business for 71 years and was originally called Radiospares. Established by Messrs Waring and Sebestyen in a lock-up garage (where else?) as the name implies it supplied radio repair shops with spare parts for radios. It has as they say come a long way since and in most tours of design departments the RS catalogue is usually prominent.
