Electronics exhibitions, bar the Electronica
juggernaut, have had tough times attracting audiences recently. Engineers just
aren’t showing up. Time pressure is too precious to give up for what might
be a random search of an exhibition hall in the hope of finding what you want.
Not so with seminars. A decent, focused day
on a specific topic can be a magnet for engineers.
Certainly the German-based distributor Rutronik looks
to be onto a winner when it rolls out its BLDC Made Easy seminar in early
September.
I like this one because it takes a less
fashionable topic. Rutronik's field applications team will line up alongside
designers from the semiconductor companies Vishay and Microchip at the event.
The theme is a long look at brushless motors
and their advantages over brush motors. How do you convert a DC motor to a BLDC
motor? Is a question that will be posed – and probably answered.
Application parameters, key points regarding
hardware and software and the relevant solutions from Vishay and Microchip will
also be discussed.
The seminar series kicks off, appropriately
enough at the Reebok Stadium, home to the English Premier League’s Bolton Wanderers.
France, Germany, Italy Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic are all
ports of call.
25Euro or £25 gets you a seat. You can apply online athttp://www.rutronik.com/index.php?id=762&L=1
