Russia is famous for many things, environmentalism not among them. In that huge country even small improvements can have a large impact - especially in heavily industrialized areas.

The latter, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), signed together with ROLF Import, MMC's Russian distributor, and the Government of the Kaluga Region a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on collaboration to improve the natural environment of the Kaluga region. The MoU includes information sharing among the three parties regarding promotion of electric vehicle (EV) and EV infrastructure. Through this MoU, the three parties intend to work on reducing CO2 emissions as well as increasing energy efficiency in the region.
This cooperation is supposed to be a start for future larger-scale interactions; Mitsubishi and its distributor certainly have a foot in the door. Even Russia can’t ignore the impact of its industry on the environment any longer.
Electric vehicle can surely help minimize the carbon footprint. At some point this innovation may alter the traditional fuel powered engines.
