It may look like a mixture of an old-fashioned beeper and some gadget for taxi drivers and is none of those. The CAN bus remote controller »neoVI-MOTE«, developed by Intrepid Control Systems and distributed by Hitex Development Tools, is supposed to make working with the CAN bus easier.
The hand-held tool is specially designed for in-vehicle operation. It enables monitoring CAN messages and displaying them in real-time. The tool is compatible with any CAN network and any CAN nodes. It can be used as a manual trigger or to execute time/event-driven actions in an existing system.

The user can use it to make diagnostic requests and to display data from responses. Possible fields of application are the programming of own diagnostic tools, adjustment of control device algorithms via XCP or CCP or the simulation of a control unit. The tool is equipped with a sunlight-readable LCD and four programmable push buttons to navigate. Another way of using it is a »simulator« on the desktop.
