Despite the crisis, the the industry’s international get-together continues its growth: The trade show embedded world 2010 is setting trends and records. Especially within the automotive area there is a lot of movement going on: The amount of electronics, software and control devices installed in motor vehicles is growing dramatically, and the move towards electric cars will only strengthen this trend.
Due to the reason that the trade fair "embedded world Exhibition&Conference" is the world's biggest exhibition of its kind and the meeting-place of the international embedded community, the fair is getting bigger and bigger. “Although it is not a matter of course, embedded world is growing and I am sure this event will be one of the most successful ever in Nürnberg,” says a very confident Alexander Mattausch, Exhibition Director of the embedded world Exhibition&Conference at NürnbergMesse. In terms of the internationality of exhibitors, the embedded industry’s number 1 has improved again by a good 17 %. In addition, many new companies have decided to exhibit at the industry highlight. The current share of new exhibitors is already above 10 %. Therefore, all the market leaders are there again in 2010”, he affirms. That means that developers have access to a wide spread of innovations, evenly spreaded on four exhibition halls.
As every year, two conferences will be held during the exhibtion: The first one “embedded world Conference” covers all fields of embedded system development. The keynote lecture will be given by Dr. Reinhold Achatz, Director Corporate Research and Technologies at Siemens. With 19 sessions and 14 classes, the embedded world Conference programme again promises an interesting and lively conference. The second conference called “electronic displays Conference” shows up how the world will see in future. Prof. Dr. Karlheinz Blankenbach, Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, Chairman of the Conference Committee, organized the conference and promises that knowledge transfer does not just take place during the lectures: The established author interviews after each session provide an excellent opportunity to talk shop in a small group. This year’s keynote is given by Maximilian Huber, President of Sharp Microelectronics Europe, on “LCD – the Basis for Trendsetting Applications now and in the Future”. Two prominent speakers have also been obtained for the session on Automotive Displays – Dr. Gan of AUO, Taiwan, and Michael Heimrath, Director Display Development at BMW.
